Features of the Meteor Plus and Satellite

The following are features of the Meteor Plus and Satellite devices used in conjunction with the bundled software

• Uses calling line information (CLI) to display the number of the incoming call on your PC screen.
• Spoken announcement of telephone numbers can be activated.
• You can record personalised announcements for frequent callers, for example 'It's your bank manager'.
• You can build up a database of callers. The system will then display the name of the caller as well as the number. You can add notes for each caller too.
• For unknown callers the caller’s STD area is displayed.
• If the PC is switched off the Satellite units log up to 50 calls internally which can be downloaded when the PC is powered up.
• You can link to your existing contact details in Microsoft Outlook or Access databases.
• Monitors incoming and outgoing calls, from any extension, recording the number dialled and the duration of the call.
• Calls can be tagged to enable allocation of call costs to customers for billing purposes.
• Log incoming and/or outgoing calls.
• The call log can be queried by incoming, outgoing or both. Timescales of day, week, month, quarter, year are preset or between any dates.
• The call log can also report activity by number, company, contact or tag.
• Call log can produce a summary of costs.
• The database can be searched on any field.
• Directory size is limited only by your system.
• You can dial outgoing calls via your modem, using the on-screen dial pad.
• Software can be networked so the caller's information can be simultaneously shown on other PCs. (Network licences need to be purchased).

• STD codes can be added/edited and the number format can be changed to your preferred setting.
• LED(s) show status of line(s).
• The Meteor Plus works on master or extension sockets.
• With the Meteor Plus, telephone conversations can be recorded to hard disk.

Requirements and Recommendations

• Standard BT phone socket(s) on analogue line(s) (that is, not ISDN)
• The Calling Line Identification (CLI) service must be turned on for the line. This is available for most UK subscribers for a small quarterly charge.
• For Satellite, a standard 13A mains power socket.
• A PC running Windows 98 or later and with a free serial port.
• Optionally, to use the audio announcement features, a sound card with speakers and microphone will be required.
• Recommended for use in the United Kingdom (not supported outside the UK).
